Job summary

Long-term Healthcare Center is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to organize and maintain staffing levels across nursing departments, ensuring quality resident care in line with federal, state, and facility guidelines. Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s degree or healthcare-related education preferred.
  • Experience in scheduling or staffing in a healthcare setting; nursing home experience strongly preferred.

  • Prepare and maintain weekly and daily nursing staff schedules (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
  • Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all shifts in compliance with state regulations and facility needs.
  • Manage call-outs, replacements, and last-minute staffing changes.
  • Contact and schedule per diem, part-time, and agency staff as needed.
  • Monitor overtime and work to minimize unnecessary labor costs.
  • Maintain accurate staffing records, attendance logs, and timekeeping data.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to adjust staffing based on census and acuity levels.
  • Ensure compliance with staffing ratios and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report absenteeism, tardiness, and staffing trends.
  • Assist with onboarding schedules and orientation for new hires.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of staff to ensure smooth shift transitions.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for staffing coverage (if required).

Position Summary:

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining appropriate staffing levels for all nursing departments to ensure quality resident care in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines. This role involves scheduling, staffing adjustments, and daily communication with nursing staff to support efficient facility operations.
