LongTerm Healthcare is seeking a Staffing Coordinator for our skilled nursing facility. You will maintain staffing levels, create and manage schedules, coordinate call-offs and replacements, and help ensure resident care meets high-quality standards.

We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility team. The Staffing Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels, creating and managing staff schedules, coordinating call-offs and replacements, and helping ensure the facility is appropriately staffed to provide safe, high-quality resident care.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment and remain calm and professional when staffing challenges arise.
Develop, maintain, and distribute nursing staff schedules based on facility needs, census, and staffing requirements.
Coordinate daily staffing for nursing departments, including CNAs, LPNs, and RNs.
Respond promptly to call-offs, late arrivals, and unexpected staffing shortages.
Contact qualified staff members to fill open shifts and maintain appropriate staffing coverage.
Maintain accurate staffing records, schedules, time-off requests, and attendance information.
Work closely with the Director of Nursing, Administrator, and nursing supervisors regarding staffing needs and concerns.
Monitor overtime, agency usage, and staffing patterns to help control labor costs.
Coordinate agency and/or temporary staff when necessary.
Assist with orientation and scheduling of new employees.
Ensure staff schedules are communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality of employee and resident information.
Help ensure staffing practices support facility policies, regulatory requirements, and quality-of-care standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Previous experience in staffing, scheduling, healthcare administration, or a skilled nursing/long-term care setting preferred.
Experience scheduling nursing staff is strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the nursing leadership team.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or electronic scheduling systems preferred.
Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
