Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the FCM team to own architecture across market data, routing, settlement, and risk. You will drive the next-gen replatforming, minimize legacy vendor dependencies, and ensure auditable systems in a regulated environment.

You will mentor engineers, raise code quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable back-end platforms for futures and risk management.

Formación

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience in production-grade distributed systems.
• Direct FCM or derivatives experience with parts of the futures lifecycle.
• Proficiency in a modern backend language (Go preferred; Java or similar).
• Experience in regulated or financial environments where accuracy matters.
• End-to-end ownership including architecture, implementation and monitoring.

Responsabilidades

• Own design and architecture across the FCM core from data feed to settlement and risk.
• Drive next-gen replatforming and reduce legacy dependencies while boosting reliability.
• Set technical bar via reviews and standards; address critical debt.
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Ops, Finance, and Compliance to deliver auditable systems.
• Mentor engineers and elevate code quality and architectural rigor.
