Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to work closely with internal stakeholders and ship production AI applications. You will own end-to-end systems, from frontend to deployment, operating in dynamic environments with autonomous decision-making and strong cross-team collaboration.

The role emphasizes delivering working software rapidly, iterating across engagements, and advancing Pearson's AI initiatives across business units.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals.
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript.
• Backend depth (Node.js, Java, Python).
• Production LLM experience.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding.
• Data fluency with databases and Python tooling.
• Cloud deployment with AWS, GCP, or Azure; CI/CD and observability.
• Integration experience (SSO, OAuth, third-party APIs).
• High agency navigating ambiguity; strong teamwork and communication.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is by working directly with internal stakeholders to design and build end-to-end systems.
• Conduct real discovery by sitting with users, observing workflows, and translating needs into buildable solutions.
• Build during conversations by delivering working software quickly.
• Work from messy inputs and turn them into coherent, usable products.
• Ship production AI applications atop frontier LLMs and related technologies.
• Own the full stack from frontend to observability and deployment.
• Codify patterns and push improvements to platform and engineering teams.
• Maintain relationships with lines of business throughout engagements.
