Job summary

Pearson seeks a forward deployed engineer to embed with internal stakeholders, translating ambiguous problems into working software and shipping production AI applications. You will own the full stack, iterate across engagements, and drive AI adoption across Pearson’s lines of business.

You will work directly with customers, collect input from messy sources, and deliver end-to-end solutions that address real workflows and data challenges. This role emphasizes autonomy and high-impact delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience, with production systems end-to-end.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design.
• Frontend depth: React, TypeScript, component architecture, state management.
• Backend depth: Node.js, Java, Python; API design, auth, error handling.
• Production LLM experience: prompt engineering, agent development, retrieval; deployed at scale.
• Awareness of AI-assisted development tools and agentic coding.
• Data fluency with databases and Python data tooling.
• Cloud deployment fluency: AWS, GCP, or Azure; CI/CD, containers, observability.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is by working with internal stakeholders and building end-to-end systems.
• Engage in real discovery: observe users, ask questions, translate needs into buildable work.
• Ship production AI applications on frontier tech stacks and evaluate outcomes.
• Handle inputs from various formats and turn them into coherent solutions.
• Own full stack: frontend, backend, data, deployments, observability.
