Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a staff-level production operations engineer to own reliable production services across AWS and container environments. You will lead incident response, automation and governance while partnering with multiple platform teams to improve service quality and delivery velocity.

The role emphasizes operational excellence, scalable architectures, and AI-assisted workflows to accelerate incident response and deployment confidence.

Qualifications

• Staff-level hands-on engineer with expertise in software development, systems engineering, and production operations.
• System architect who links customer experience, APIs, data flows and infrastructure into resilient designs.
• Proven ability to define standards, quality gates and governance across teams.
• Independent technical leader who mentors engineers and drives scalable practices.
• Strong systems-thinking across runtime, cloud, Kubernetes, networking, observability and incident handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead application operations and production support for services in AWS and container environments focusing on availability, resiliency, scalability, performance and security.
• Define and evolve production operations architecture, readiness standards and reusable patterns with automation and runbooks.
• Architect and scale tools and automation for telemetry, release validation and operational readiness to reduce toil.
• Establish CI/CD gates and governance to improve release confidence and velocity.
• Advance observability and incident management with dashboards, alerts, and metrics to reduce MTTR.
• Collaborate with SRE, data services, CI/CD and platform teams to improve reliability and ownership.
• Lead performance, capacity planning, infrastructure modernization and cost optimization using AWS, Kubernetes and related patterns.
• Utilize AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and production-signal analysis.
• Provide rotational on-call support and drive RCA and systemic fixes for recurring issues.
