Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment seeks a staff-level engineer to own production operations across AWS and container environments. You’ll drive automation, observability, and governance, partnering with teams to shift reliability left and improve release confidence.

This role emphasizes on-call leadership, incident management and scalable engineering practices. Candidates should have a BS degree or equivalent and 10+ years in production environments, plus 5+ years AWS experience deploying Java/API

Qualifications

• Staff-level hands-on engineer with software, systems engineering and production operations.
• Full-stack engineering connecting frontend/APIs, data flows, infra and controls.
• Define operational standards, quality gates and governance across teams.
• Independent technical leader who mentors engineers and drives scalable practices.
• Strong systems thinking across runtime, cloud, Kubernetes, network and release layers.

Responsibilities

• Lead production operations for AWS and container environments with focus on availability, resiliency and security.
• Define and evolve production operations architecture, readiness standards and reusable patterns.
• Architect and scale automation for telemetry and release validation to reduce toil.
• Establish CI/CD gates and governance for reliable releases.
• Advance observability and incident response to shorten MTTR and improve reliability.
