Render is building a developer‑focused cloud platform. We’re seeking a Staff Product Designer to evolve from a solo developer tool to a backbone for fast‑scaling teams. You’ll own surfaces developers rely on during high‑traffic, stressful moments, shaping a cohesive system that feels simple and reliable.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in product design for developer tools, cloud infrastructure, or similar complex, high-stakes products.
• Exceptional taste and craft, with attention to typography, spacing, motion, density, and interaction feedback.
• Strong information architecture to make complex systems feel cohesive and obvious.
• Design the whole journey, not just individual screens, across entry to recovery and failure to recovery.
• Fluent in developer language, including services, CI/CD, and deployments.
• Respect for failure states and designing empathetic error experiences.
• Systems fluency and contribution to a design system as the surface area grows.
• Strong product judgment under fast launch velocity and tight deadlines.
• Clear, direct communication and collaborative work with product and engineering partners.

Responsibilities

• Make a multi-service system legible at a glance, showing how services connect and depend on each other.
• Design system‑level observability with logs, metrics, deploys, and events across a project.
• Design deployment as a coordinated act, including cross‑service deployment and rollback workflows.
• Own the user experience for first-run and error states, turning tough moments into helpful experiences.
• Own first encounters from signup to first successful deploy to build trust.
• Contribute to the platform’s future via design-led discovery and weekly critiques.
