Job summary

Axon is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer, Communications Hardware to own the mechanical design from concept through high-volume production of rugged, wireless devices used by public safety professionals.

You will collaborate with ID, EE, RF, PM and manufacturing teams, balancing durability, RF performance, thermal management and manufacturability while driving design maturity. This hybrid role includes onsite work in various hubs including Scottsdale, AZ.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical product design experience, preferably ruggedized portable or wearable hardware.
• 5+ years of technical leadership, directing teams of 3+ mechanical engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design from concept through high-volume production.
• Balance durability, sealing, thermal, RF performance, manufacturability and cost in designs.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, RF, Product Management and manufacturing.
