Job summary

Axon is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer, Communications Hardware to own the mechanical design and development of next-generation, mission-critical hardware from concept through high-volume production. You will lead the mechanical development lifecycle, partnering with ID, EE, RF, PM, and manufacturing teams to translate requirements into robust, production-ready designs.

You will balance durability, sealing, RF performance, thermal management, battery integration and ergonomics while driving

Qualifications

• 12+ years of mechanical product design experience.
• 5+ years of technical leadership supervising 3+ engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design from concept through high-volume production.
• Balance size, weight, durability, sealing, thermal and RF performance.
• Design for ruggedization using plastics, metal, and assemblies.
• Validate designs with FEA, tolerance analysis and testing.
• Collaborate with ID, EE, RF, PM and manufacturing teams.
