Job summary

Celestica is seeking a versatile Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design to lead physical design for energy infrastructure products. You will bridge early customer discovery with formal engineering execution as the primary mechanical architect.

You will collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and cross-functional engineering teams to translate complex customer requirements into scalable, high-quality mechanical systems emphasizing structural integrity, thermal efficiency, and grid

Qualifications

7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment markets.
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related field required.
MS degree or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

Solutions Architecture & Request Synthesis: Interface with clients to translate requirements into detailed mechanical specifications and ICDs; Lead technical scoping for proposals as SME; Conduct system trade-off analyses.
Advanced Mechanical Design & Verification: Create 3D concepts and assemblies in CAD with FEA/Thermal analysis; Develop modular, scalable mechanical modules; Plan and execute V&V tests.
Technical Leadership & Operations Support: Lead design reviews and documentation standards; Drive DFM/DFA with manufacturers; Manage schedules, resources, and mentoring of junior engineers.
