Job summary

Celestica is seeking a versatile Solutions Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design of energy infrastructure products. You will serve as the primary mechanical architect, interfacing with Sales, Supply Chain, and cross‑functional engineering teams to translate customer requirements into robust mechanical systems with strong structural integrity and thermal performance.

Travel up to 35% to client sites and manufacturing facilities will be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• MS in Engineering or PE license preferred.
• Remote position with travel to client sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Interface with prospective clients to interpret specs and draft detailed mechanical requirements and ICDs.
• Lead technical scoping for proposals as central mechanical SME.
• Perform system trade-off analyses balancing performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
• Design and develop 3D concepts, enclosures, frame weldments, and sheet metal assemblies using CAD and simulation tools (FEA/Thermal).
• Create scalable mechanical modules compliant with client standards and safety regulations.
• Formulate test plans to qualify mechanical systems and ensure field readiness.
