Job summary

Celestica, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer, Mechanical Design to lead the physical design of energy infrastructure portfolios.

You will be the mechanical architect, translating customer needs into scalable, high‑quality systems with strong stability, thermal efficiency and grid integration. You will collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and cross-functional engineering teams, driving proposals, design reviews, and manufacturability considerations while mentoring junior engineers and

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering required; MS/PE preferred.
7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design in power infrastructure or modular equipment.
Proven ability to translate customer needs into mechanical specs and ICDs.

Responsibilities

Interface with clients to interpret specifications and create ICDs.
Lead technical scoping for proposals as SME for mechanical work.
Analyze system architectures to balance performance, weight, cost and manufacturability.
Design 3D concepts and enclosures; perform CAD, FEA and thermal simulations.
Develop modular mechanical modules aligned to standards and safety regs.
Create test plans for verification and validation of mechanical systems.
Lead design reviews; enforce modeling/documentation standards.
Drive DFM/DFA with fabricators; resolve production challenges.
Mentor junior engineers; manage schedules and deliverables.
Support field commissioning and iterate designs from feedback.
