Job summary

Celestica is seeking a versatile Solutions Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the physical design and development of our energy infrastructure portfolio.

You will bridge customer discovery and engineering execution as the primary mechanical architect, collaborating with Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable mechanical systems designed for structural integrity, thermal efficiency, and grid integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related technical field.
• 7–10 years of hands-on mechanical design experience in power infrastructure, smart energy, or modular equipment.
• Experience taking complex mechanical assemblies from concept to deployment and field readiness.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with prospective clients to interpret specifications and translate ambiguous requirements into detailed mechanical specifications and ICDs.
• Lead technical scoping for proposals as central mechanical SME with well-defined scopes of work.
• Analyze complex system architectures to balance performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
