Job summary

CoreWeave is hiring for a Senior Storage Engineer to design and implement distributed storage for AI workloads. You will develop S3-compatible object storage, integrate large storage clusters, and optimize with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, plus NFS/FUSE.

You will lead reliability, security, and observability efforts while mentoring teammates. The role requires 8–10+ years in storage or infrastructure, expertise in Ceph/DAOS, Go/C/Rust, Kubernetes, and modern telemetry tooling.

Qualifications

8–10+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with object storage or distributed filesystems in production environments.
Proficiency with storage protocols (S3, NFS) and file systems (Ceph, DAOS).
Proficiency in Go, C, or Rust for systems development.
Experience with cloud-native infra, Kubernetes, and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

Design and implement distributed storage solutions to support scaling data-intensive AI workloads.
Develop exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and integrate clusters into diverse environments.
Work with RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, and NFS/FUSE to optimize storage performance.
Lead reliability, durability, security, and observability improvements of the storage stack.
Collaborate with operations to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production storage systems.
Set the bar for metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into storage health.
Analyze telemetry and system data to drive throughput, latency, and resilience gains.
Work cross-functionally with platform, product, and infra teams to deliver storage capabilities.
Share knowledge and mentor engineers on best practices for distributed systems.
