Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Engineer Subsystems Aeronautical Design to guide aircraft subsystem development from concept to sustainment. The role may be located in Palmdale, CA, Oklahoma City, OK, Whiteman AFB, or San Diego, CA, and requires strong leadership across 10+ team members.

You will create hydraulic and electrical schematics, perform system trade studies, and lead verification and integration efforts to ensure airworthiness and program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 12+ years in aerospace structural design; or MS with 10+ years; or PhD with 8+ years.
• Proven experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment.
• Demonstrated project-management capabilities.
• Experience acting as a SME for a engineering team of 10+ members.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; able to brief senior executives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create hydraulic and electrical schematics for functional systems and select components.
• Lead trade studies, layout development, and system testing.
• Act as SME for multidisciplinary teams and communicate with senior leadership.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans and verify requirements.
