Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Subsystems Aeronautical Design to lead hydraulic and electrical subsystem development from concept through final integration. You will guide a multidisciplinary team across design, analysis, and testing to ensure airworthiness and system performance.

Requirements include a STEM degree with extensive aerospace experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in STEM with 12+ years in aerospace structural design OR MS with 10+ years OR PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment (cradle-to-grave).
• Proven project-management capabilities.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to present to senior executives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance and a SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create hydraulic and electrical schematics for functional systems and select components.
• Lead trade studies, layout development, architecture definition, system testing and verification.
• Manage subcontractors; act as technical point of contact for suppliers during hardware development.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans and resolve issues.
• Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams and present to senior leadership.
