Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr Principal Electrical Engineer - Vehicle Subsystems & Integration to join our team. This role leads and/or contributes across hydraulic and electrical subsystems, guiding projects from concept to sustainment with SME responsibilities.

Location options include Palmdale, CA; Oklahoma City, OK; Whiteman AFB, MO; or San Diego, CA. Travel up to 10% may be required, and the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant STEM field with 8+ years experience; OR Masters with 6+ years; OR PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities.
• Ability to present technical briefings to senior executives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design & Development: create hydraulic and electrical schematics and select components.
• Perform system analysis for electrical power, distribution, and protection; hydraulic systems analysis.
• Lead system engineering activities including layout, tests, and verification.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and act as technical point of contact with suppliers.
• Develop and execute system-level test plans and resolve issues.
• Provide SME guidance to multidisciplinary teams and present to leadership.
