Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Subsystems Aeronautical Design to join a diverse team in Palmdale, CA. The role leads electrical/hydraulic subsystem design from concept through integration, serving as SME for a 10+ member engineering team.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with extensive experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret/SAP clearance. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in STEM with 12+ years in aerospace design OR MS with 10+ years OR PhD with 8+ years.
• Proven experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment (cradle-to-grave).
• Demonstrated project-management capabilities.
• Experience acting as an SME for a large engineering team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication; capable of briefing senior executives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance and SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Create hydraulic and electrical schematics for aircraft systems and select components.
• Lead trade studies, layout development, architecture definition, system testing, verification, and troubleshooting.
