Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Sr Principal Electrical Engineer – Vehicle Subsystems & Integration to lead and contribute across aircraft subsystem development from concept to sustainment. You will design hydraulic and electrical schematics and guide multi-disciplinary teams.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience, a track record of cradle-to-grave projects, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in STEM with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years.
Proven experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment.
Project management capabilities and SME experience.
Analytical skills with a track record of complex problem solving.
Ability to present technical briefings to senior executives.
Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

Design & Development: create hydraulic and electrical schematics and select components.
System engineering: lead trade studies, layout development, architecture definition, testing, and verification.
Leadership & Communication: serve as SME for multidisciplinary teams and present to senior leadership.
Testing & Verification: develop system-level test plans and resolve issues.
Ensure airworthiness criteria are met throughout the lifecycle.
