Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in San Diego, CA seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer – Vehicle Subsystems & Integration to design and integrate critical aircraft subsystems. This role supports cradle-to-grave development, system safety, and airworthiness through cross-functional collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

You will lead technical trades, develop schematics, and present briefings to senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in STEM with 12 years of related experience; or a Masters degree with 10 years; or a PhD with 8 years.
• Proven experience leading a system’s development from concept to sustainment.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities.
• Experience acting as a SME for an engineering team of 3+ members.
• Demonstrated analytical skills with a track record of complex problem solving.
• Proven ability to create and present technical briefings to senior executives.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design & Development: create hydraulic and electrical schematics for functional systems and select components.
• System Engineering: lead trade studies, layout development, architecture definition, system testing and verification.
• Testing & Verification: develop and execute system-level test plans and analyze results.
• Leadership & Communication: serve as SME for 10+ members and brief senior leadership.
