Job summary
Slate is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to set the technical direction for building, running and operating our infrastructure. This hands-on role blends architecture, code, and on-call responsibilities, reporting to the DevOps team lead.
You will design a hybrid Kubernetes platform spanning Amazon EKS and self-managed clusters, evolve the AWS foundation, and build a reliable, scalable platform used by manufacturing, data, and enterprise teams.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands‑on experience designing and operating production AWS environments across many accounts.
- Experience running Kubernetes in production on EKS and self‑managed clusters.
Responsibilities
- Architect the Hybrid Kubernetes Platform across Amazon EKS and self-managed clusters.
- Build and document the reference architecture for cluster provisioning, multi-cluster management, networking, identity, secrets, storage and upgrades.
- Evolve the AWS foundation with governance, identity, networking and DNS.
- Establish on-call rotation, SLOs, incident response, and observability.
