Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure that our digital, data, manufacturing and enterprise teams depend on. You will manage a hybrid Kubernetes platform spanning Amazon EKS and self-managed clusters, and you will own provisioning, add-ons, upgrades and day-two operations.

You will develop infrastructure in Python with AWS CDK across a multi-account organization, collaborate with Digital teams, data engineering, and other Slate teams, and you will

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering with production responsibility.
• Strong AWS experience including IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch.
• Kubernetes operations in EKS and self-managed clusters; cluster upgrades.
• Python and Infrastructure as Code; AWS CDK preferred; read TS code.
• CI/CD and container tooling; GitHub Actions; Helm; GitOps (Argo CD/Flux).
• Observability and on-call experience; Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch.
• Linux networking basics; TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, TLS, VPN.
• Clear communication; startup mindset; degree in CS/Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build and run hybrid Kubernetes platform across AWS with EKS and self-managed clusters.
• Develop Python infrastructure via CDK across multi-account org.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, container builds and GitOps deployments to Kubernetes.
• Partake in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, postmortems and improvements.
• Create runbooks and design notes for team-wide accessibility.
