Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure used by our digital, data, manufacturing and enterprise teams. You will manage a hybrid Kubernetes platform spanning Amazon EKS and self-managed clusters, and automate infrastructure with Python and AWS CDK across a multi-account AWS organization.

You will work closely with partner teams, own deployment patterns, and contribute to on-call incident response and postmortems.

Responsibilities

• Build and Run the Hybrid Kubernetes Platform: Stand up and operate Amazon EKS clusters and self-managed Kubernetes clusters across virtualized infrastructure.
• Deliver and Extend Our AWS Environment: Create infrastructure with Python and AWS CDK across a multi-account org.
• Partner with the Teams We Serve: Work with Digital, Data Eng and other teams to provide environments, access and pipelines.
• Own Pipelines and Deployment Patterns: Maintain CI/CD workflows, GitHub Actions, container build/release patterns, and GitOps deployments.
• Keep Things Running: Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and write postmortems.
• Automate Away Toil: Turn repeated requests into self-service tooling and automation.
• Document and Share: Write runbooks, how-to guides and design notes for teammates to follow
