Job summary

Slate is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure across our digital, data, and manufacturing teams. You’ll manage a hybrid Kubernetes platform spanning AWS EKS and self-managed clusters, while partnering with product teams to ship reliable systems.

You’ll lead CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and on-call incident response, documenting runbooks and automating toil for speed and reliability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps or SRE with production systems responsibility.
• Strong AWS experience including IAM, VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch.
• Experience operating Kubernetes in multi-account environments; CKAs or Rancher beneficial.
• Strong Python and Infrastructure as Code skills; AWS CDK preferred.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, container builds, Helm, and GitOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and run hybrid Kubernetes platform across AWS and on-site clusters.
• Develop infrastructure in Python with CDK across multi-account orgs.
• Collaborate with Digital, Data Engineering and other teams to provide environments and pipelines.
• Own CI/CD workflows, GitHub Actions, and GitOps deployments to Kubernetes.
• Participate in on-call rotation, respond to incidents, and write postmortems.
