Qualifications

• 5+ years in data science, analytics, BI, or related field in consumer tech, fintech, marketplaces, or SaaS.
• Proven track record of shaping strategy and influencing executive decisions through data.
• Experience supporting zero-to-one products, emerging models, growth initiatives, or ambiguous problem spaces.
• Strong expertise in experimentation, performance measurement, customer analytics, and causal/decision-oriented analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to define success metrics and learning frameworks for initiatives without established benchmarks.
• Strong business acumen across customer acquisition, engagement, retention, product strategy, and operations.
• Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Advanced SQL proficiency and experience using Python or R for analysis, modeling, and automation.
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills for clear business narratives from complex data.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to identify, evaluate, and prioritize new acquisition, engagement, and customer-growth opportunities.
• Develop measurement strategies for nascent products and models where benchmarks may not exist.
• Shape analytical roadmaps for emerging initiatives and translate hypotheses into measurable tests.
• Build understanding of customer engagement before, during, and after tax season to improve acquisition and retention.
• Create visualizations and dashboards that enable leadership to understand performance and opportunities.
• Create analytical frameworks connecting early signals to long-term outcomes.
• Serve as a data science partner to senior leaders across Marketing, Product, Expert Services, and Operations.
• Develop integrated views of the emerging-growth portfolio to guide investment decisions.
• Support business reviews and planning cycles with analytical perspectives on progress and learnings.
• Mentor other data scientists and analysts to foster data-informed innovation.
