Jobgether is seeking a Staff Engineer, Data in the United States to lead the architecture and building of our data infrastructure powering a growing rental housing tech platform.

You will drive data pipelines, data warehouses, and transformations, while mentoring a small team and shaping engineering standards. This remote-first role emphasizes hands-on development, technical leadership, and collaboration with product and operations to deliver measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least eight years of professional software engineering experience with senior or staff-level leadership.
• Strong backend programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, TypeScript, or Java with production systems.
• Solid data engineering experience: SQL, data modeling, data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery), dbt, orchestration (Prefect, Airflow).
• Experience designing, developing, and scaling APIs, distributed systems, and relational databases.
• Hands-on cloud infra experience (AWS or GCP) and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to customer needs and business outcomes.
• Familiarity with AI-powered coding tools and evaluating AI-generated output.
• Proven track record leading complex, high-impact projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and build core data infrastructure: event models, ingestion pipelines, integrations, data warehouses, and transformation layers.
• Develop and maintain production code for backend services, APIs, and data-generation jobs.
• Partner with product, finance, and operations to define outcomes and prioritize initiatives.
• Own data reliability, accuracy, and integrity across financial close, reporting, and partner data exchanges.
• Establish engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability, and data quality, including AI-generated code evaluation.
• Lead high-impact initiatives from discovery to implementation with measurable results.
• Mentor engineers, conduct reviews, and support growth of direct reports.
• Protect sensitive information with security practices and regulatory compliance.
