Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING (BLE) seeks an Engineering Staff Associate to join our Geotechnical Group in Asheville, NC. You will support senior staff on environmental, civil, geotechnical, and construction material testing projects while building hands‑on skills and pursuing licensure.

You will contribute to site investigations, data collection, basic reports, and QA/QC under supervision, with mentorship and opportunities to travel regionally to project sites and grow your professional career in

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical engineering or closely related field, ABET-accredited.
• 0-2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields.
• Currently in progress towards Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT).
• Required to travel regularly to local and regional project sites (SC and surrounding states) with possible overnight stays, performing fieldwork under safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analyses, calculations, and design for site development, foundations, retaining walls, earthwork, and pavements.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT, Tablogs for design, modeling, and data analysis.
• Conduct site investigations, field inspections, and data collection to support project objectives.
• Draft exploration reports for review by senior professionals.
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and basic report preparation under direct supervision.
• Support client communications and maintain professional conduct with project teams.
