BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking an Engineering Staff Associate to join our Geotechnical Group in Asheville, NC. The role supports senior staff across environmental, civil, geotechnical, and construction material testing projects, contributing to design analyses and field work.

You will develop foundational knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and work toward professional licensure while traveling to project sites and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field of study from an ABET-accredited institution.
• 0-2 years of progressively responsible professional experience in relevant fields
• Currently in progress towards obtaining Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification
• Required to travel regularly to local and regional project sites (SC and surrounding states) with possible overnight stays, performing extensive fieldwork while following health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analyses, calculations, and design for projects including site development, foundations, walls, earthwork and pavements.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GeoStudio, gINT and Tablogs for design, modeling, and data analysis.
• Conduct site investigations and data collection to support project objectives.
• Draft exploration reports for review by senior professionals.
• Learn and apply environmental, civil design, geotechnical principles and construction material testing under supervision.
• Assist in client communications and progress reporting under senior staff guidance.
• Follow QA/QC procedures and assist in data and report review for accuracy.
