Job summary

Compass, Inc. is embedding generative AI into its real estate platform and seeks a security engineer to own AI product security. You will define standards for securing AI capabilities and collaborate with AI platform and product teams to ensure secure deployment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering, with 2+ years focused on AI/ML or LLM security.
• Production AI/ML security across development lifecycle, deployment, and runtime.
• Hands-on red teaming against adversarial AI and prompt injection.
• Strong cloud and container security fundamentals: AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, IAM, API security, DevSecOps.
• Experience threat modeling complex distributed systems and remediation with engineering teams.
• Strong ability to translate AI risk into business impact for executives.

Responsibilities

• Own the AI product security roadmap.
• Threat model AI capability builds.
• Build production guardrails for LLM inputs/outputs and data exfiltration checks.
• Constrain autonomy with blast-radius controls and human-in-the-loop checks.
• Secure the retrieval layer and data access boundaries.
• Harden the AI supply chain with third-party models and providers.
• Instrument detections and telemetry for AI abuse and tool misuse.
• Automate secure patterns through libraries and CI/CD checks.
• Advise and evangelize AI architecture decisions across teams.
