Job summary

Compass is seeking a Security Engineer to own the security of AI features across our real estate platform. You will define secure-by-default patterns for model usage, retrieval, and tool invocation, ensuring end-to-end protection from input to client display.

You will partner with AI platform, product, and engineering teams to implement threat modeling, guardrails, and monitoring. The role emphasizes scalable, production-grade security for AI-enabled real estate tools.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering
• Production AI/ML security experience
• Hands-on red teaming experience with AI systems
• Strong cloud and application security fundamentals (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, IAM)
• Threat modeling for distributed systems and remediation with engineers
• Ability to translate AI risk into business impact for leadership

Responsibilities

• Own the AI product security roadmap and standards for Compass AI features.
• Conduct threat modeling and architectural reviews for AI capabilities and pipelines.
• Architect, deploy, and automate protections for AI inputs/outputs and data handling.
• Design autonomy controls, audit trails, and safe tool-invocation patterns.
• Secure the retrieval layer with access controls and data integrity checks.
• Harden the AI supply chain including providers and vector stores.
• Build detections and telemetry for AI abuse and exfiltration patterns.
• Develop reusable secure AI libraries, CI/CD checks, and evaluation harnesses.
• Advise engineers and executives on AI security architecture and roadmap.
