Job summary

Compass is embedding generative AI into its real estate platform, owning AI surface security end-to-end. This role leads security architecture for AI features, from model layers to agent tool invocation, partnering with AI platform and product teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments.

You will collaborate across engineering to align platform and security standards, shaping responsible AI risk management and robust customer-facing protections.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering
• Demonstrated experience securing a production AI/ML system end to end
• Expertise in adversarial ML and LLM risks with hands-on red teaming
• Strong app and cloud security fundamentals (AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, IAM, API security)
• Experience threat modeling complex distributed systems and remediation with engineering teams
• Strong communication translating AI risk into business impact for leadership

Responsibilities

• Own the AI product security roadmap and set multi-year vision
• Drive architectural reviews and threat modeling for AI features and pipelines
• Build production guardrails for real-time protections and data exfiltration checks
• Design blast-radius controls for autonomous agents with human-in-the-loop
• Secure the retrieval layer with access controls and data boundaries
• Harden the AI supply chain including third-party models and providers
• Instrument detections and telemetry for AI abuse and tool invocation
• Automate secure patterns via libraries, CI/CD checks, and evaluation harnesses
• Advise and evangelize AI security architecture to engineers and executives
