Job summary

Workstream is seeking a founding engineer for its AI-Native Services team. You will steer architecture, set engineering bar, and build a team from zero to one, owning core components, performance, and maintainability with leadership visibility.

This is a full-time, remote role with occasional in-office visits to support cross-functional collaboration. You will work directly with design customers and the leadership team to shape the service’s technical direction.

Qualifications

• Built and operated at least one AI agent in production.
• Experience collaborating with customers on discovery, implementation or incident resolution.
• Ability to break complex workflows into deterministic steps with testing.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate production AI agents and agentic workflows with orchestration, data connections, and permissions.
• Partner with design customers, map real workflows, and implement against live data.
• Create evaluation harnesses with datasets, thresholds, and regression tests.
• Develop human-review tooling, queues, escalation paths, and auditable traces.
• Run shadow-mode runs to align with existing processes before go-live.
• Turn customer work into reusable agents and playbooks, enabling productization.
• Handle production incidents end-to-end and feed learnings back into evals.
