Job summary

Workstream is seeking a talented Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join our growing engineering team in a hybrid role. You will architect and build AI-native services, own the delivery system and cost structure, and lead a technical team through from discovery to measurable outcomes.

This role emphasizes building repeatable, scalable AI-enabled workflows with governance and compliance in a fast-growing, Series B environment.

Qualifications

Experience building and operating an AI agent or agentic workflow in production.
Leadership of a technical team, including hiring or mentoring engineers.
Direct customer engagement from discovery through launch and measurable outcomes.
Ownership of delivery economics, including margin and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

Architect and build the delivery system for AI services, including agents, integrations, and human review.
Define and enforce escalation rules, testing strategies, and verification to prevent low-quality AI output.
Lead a technical team and mentor engineers, balancing architecture trade-offs with delivery goals.
Navigate regulated domains (payroll/payments/tax/benefits) when applicable to delivery and compliance.
Work in a hands-on leadership role, owning productized, repeatable systems over bespoke customization.
