Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to embed with internal teams, turning ambiguous needs into working software end to end. You will own the full stack—from data and APIs to frontend presentation—delivering production AI applications on frontier LLMs for real business workflows.

You’ll work directly with stakeholders, ship quickly in a remote-friendly setup, and help Pearson deploy AI across the organization with strong collaboration and ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production systems end to end.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong CS fundamentals and system design.
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript.
• Backend depth with Node.JS, Java, and Python.
• Production LLM experience with prompts, agents, and retrieval.
• Ability to work directly with stakeholders and understand workflows.
• Experience with cloud and deployment (CI/CD, containers).

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and design end-to-end systems for internal stakeholders.
• Conduct real discovery by sitting with users and translating needs.
• Build during conversations and ship working software quickly.
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent designs.
• Ship production AI applications on frontier LLMs and related tech.
• Iterate across engagements and adapt to changing requirements.
• Own the full stack from frontend to observability.
• Codify reusable patterns back to platform teams.
• Maintain long-term relationships with business lines.
