Job summary

Pearson is hiring a forward deployed engineer to work directly with customer teams and ship production AI software. You will embed with business units, converse with stakeholders, and deliver end-to-end systems that address real problems.

Expect ownership of full stack, rapid iteration, and collaboration across a large organization. Strong background in full-stack development and LLM-based solutions is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience.
• Strong CS fundamentals and system design ability.
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript.
• Backend depth in Node.js, Java, and Python.
• Production experience with LLMs and agents.
• Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools.
• Comfort with Python data tooling.
• Cloud platforms and CI/CD with observable deployments.
• Experience integrating with SSO, OAuth, APIs.
• High agency and collaboration across teams.
• Excellent communication across executives and engineers.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and design end-to-end systems with stakeholders.
• Conduct discovery with users and translate findings into buildables.
• Build during conversations and deliver working software quickly.
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent designs.
• Ship production AI applications on frontier tech.
• Iterate across many engagements in short cycles.
• Own the full stack from frontend to observability.
• Codify patterns and push improvements to platform teams.
• Maintain long-term relationships with lines of business.
