Job summary

Pearson is seeking a forward deployed engineer to work directly with internal stakeholders, delivering production AI solutions end-to-end. You will operate autonomously, iterate quickly, and own the full stack from data to observability.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in full-stack roles, strong CS fundamentals, and hands-on experience with React, Node.js, Java, Python, and production LLMs. This is a remote US-based opportunity with Pearson.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Strong CS fundamentals and system design skills.
• Frontend depth with React and TypeScript.
• Backend depth in Node.js, Java, and Python with API design.
• Production LLM experience with real apps.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools and agent coding.
• Data tooling experience with Python and databases.
• Cloud deployment across AWS, GCP or Azure with real URLs behind auth.
• Integration work with SSO, OAuth, and APIs.
• High agency navigating ambiguity within a large org.
• Strong cross-team cooperation and communication.
• Keeping pace with evolving AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is and design end-to-end systems for stakeholders.
• Conduct real discovery by watching users work and translating needs into buildables.
• Build during conversations, delivering working software quickly.
• Handle messy inputs and turn them into coherent outputs.
• Ship production AI applications on frontier tech at scale.
• Iterate across many engagements with evolving requirements.
• Own the full stack from frontend to observability.
• Codify reusable patterns and push back to platform teams.
• Maintain long-term relationships with lines of business.
