Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This remote-first role supports month-end close, reconciliations, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting for our nationwide operations.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct. You will collaborate with leadership to ensure accurate financials and timely insights.

Qualifications

• Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies.
• Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct) preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure timely financial reporting and management review deadlines.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
