Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role supports month-end close, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and GAAP-compliant reporting in a remote-friendly environment across the United States.

The ideal candidate holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, 2–3 years of accounting experience, and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist month-end close with balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review are met.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
