Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role focuses on day-to-day accounting activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting the month-end close, with a remote-first setup to accommodate nationwide talent.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of accounting experience, proficiency in Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and familiarity with ERP systems like Sage Intacct.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting tasks including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with documentation.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve irregularities.
• Assist with month-end close, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Support external auditors with requested docs.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
