RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role handles day-to-day accounting activities and assists the month-end close in a remote-friendly environment.

Ideal candidates hold an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 2–3 years of relevant experience, advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), and Sage Intacct familiarity. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential to ensure GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance with 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work independently to achieve accurate results and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
