Job summary

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting to support monthly and quarterly close, prepare financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, and account reconciliations. The role helps ensure accuracy, timeliness and integrity of financial statements and reports.

You will review general ledger accounts, assist with daily cash management, and support annual audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• 2 – 3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepares journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review assigned general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness, investigate questionable transactions, form reasonable conclusions, make recommendations to Accounting Management and prepare correcting journal entries as appropriate. Prepares monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts. Identifies, researches, and corrects account discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting
• Assists in the annual financial audits.
