Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant in Lincoln, NE to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the accounting month-end close. The role focuses on preparing financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, and reconciliations with accuracy and integrity.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, V-Lookups). CPA is a preferred qualification and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, and other Excel capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Posts monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness; investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in annual financial audits.
