Job summary

SSOE is seeking a mid-to-senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical systems for automotive and industrial facilities. You will design power distribution, coordinate with cross-discipline teams, and act as Engineer of Record on complex projects from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE license or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with automotive, battery manufacturing, or related facilities.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IBC standards.
• Strong client-facing communication and project leadership.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of electrical systems for automotive, manufacturing, battery, and industrial facilities.
• Serve as Engineer of Record and technical lead on projects of varying complexity and size.
• Develop electrical power distribution systems from utility service through facility distribution networks.
• Prepare and review: One-line diagrams, Power plans, Equipment layouts, Cable schedules, Electrical room layouts, Lighting systems, Grounding systems, Load calculations, Short-circuit and coordination studies.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, controls, structural, and architecture teams throughout project development.
• Support facility expansion, modernization, and greenfield manufacturing projects.
• Interface directly with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical recommendations.
• Review vendor documentation and coordinate utility service requirements.
• Support equipment procurement, construction activities, startup, and commissioning efforts.
• Lead design reviews, quality reviews, and constructability assessments.
• Develop project scopes, engineering estimates, schedules, and staffing plans.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers while promoting technical excellence and quality standards.
• Support business development efforts including proposals, client presentations, and project pursuits.
