Industry experience is not required, as we will help you develop product knowledge, application expertise, and building science insights. With this support, you’ll be equipped to use your financial acumen and market analysis skills to succeed alongside your customers.

This position supports the Roofing Distribution business and customers and is based in Kansas City, Joplin, or Springfield. It is part of the Kansas City Team.

  1. Leveraging customer relationships to execute your sales plan and help customers succeed.
  2. Driving growth in the building materials industry and adding value for Owens Corning and your customers.
  3. Implementing pricing strategies and providing customer insights.
  4. Growing existing accounts and developing new opportunities.
  5. Using your market knowledge to win in your territory.
Skills and qualifications for success
  1. Experience selling based on product or service value to meet customer needs, from cold call to close.
  2. Strong listening skills to diagnose and solve customer problems.
  3. Ability to develop and execute a clear customer or territory strategy.
  4. Proven ability to build strong customer relationships.
  5. Effective at persuasive product presentations.
  6. High ethical standards and professionalism.
Business requirements
  1. Candidate must be located in Kansas City, Springfield, or Joplin territory.
  2. Position is home-based with overnight travel required.
  3. Ability to operate across geographic and cultural boundaries.
  4. Bilingual or bicultural skills are a plus.
