Account Manager - Commercial & Industrial Construction

Reporting To: District Sales Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the sales of Electrification products within the Kansas City trade area, aligned with division strategy. You will achieve both qualitative and quantitative sales targets to ensure sustainable growth, revenues, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction. You will also identify and develop new sales opportunities. This is a remote position, and successful candidates should be located in the Kansas City metro area. This role contributes to the Electrification Smart Buildings division in the United States.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and tracking upcoming sales opportunities and influencing customer specifications to favor ABB and increase market share in the commercial, industrial, and governmental segments.
  • Educating customers about differentiating products through technical presentations, introducing new products, and targeting potential customers.
  • Collaborating with Product Managers by identifying product gaps, providing feedback on new product introductions, and sharing customer insights.
  • Generating cross-selling leads to facilitate easier business transactions with ABB Industrial Solutions.
Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field, with at least 5 years of sales experience in large commercial construction and industrial projects, preferably in electrical products.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors and channel partners is required.
  • Knowledge of the electrical industry in the region and ABB products is preferred.
  • Proficiency with analytical software and sales tools; Salesforce.com experience is a plus.
  • Ability to apply Six Sigma methodologies; relevant training is advantageous.
  • Understanding of the full portfolio of products and services, including power distribution and installation products, is preferred.
