Job summary

Harborview Spine Center is seeking a Program Coordinator/Scheduler for a full‑time, day shift, on‑site role. You will triage medical information, schedule procedures, and coordinate patient flow between patients, physicians and outside agencies. You will also manage pre‑admission testing and transfers from outside hospitals to UWMC.

The position emphasizes accurate record collection, liaison duties, and use of the online appointment system to ensure smooth patient care pathways.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in the program specialty or equivalent education/experience.

Responsibilities

• Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty.
• Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments.
• Act as a liaison between patients, consulting physician, referring physician, or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments, admission, or surgery.
• Coordinate anesthesia.
• Obtain all necessary medical records, diagnostic studies, pathology items, etc., that are needed for patient care.
• Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician.
• Enter appointment information in online appointment system.
• Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures.
• Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed.
• Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians, medical staff, and Admitting.
