Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Foot, Ankle and Hand Clinic. The role supports clinic flow, disability claims processing, and patient advocacy within UW Medicine’s Harborview campus.

Responsibilities include coordinating care, completing paperwork for absences or restrictions, and reporting on disability and FMLA statistics, with opportunities to participate in COHE trainings and L&I orientation.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient’s entry into and through the health care system as related to disability claims.
• Coordinate and complete all paperwork related to patients’ medically-required absence from work or work restrictions.
• Coordinate patient care services and act as patient advocate during clinic sessions.
• Facilitate delivery of efficient patient care with coordination of services with the patient medical visit.
• Create clinic-specific policies, procedures, or workflows and adjust as regulations evolve.
• Interview patients to determine concerns and anticipated needs at reappointments.
• Ensure outcomes of treatment are conveyed to outside consultants from physicians.
• Complete forms and billing documentation; report on disability and FMLA statistics.
• Monitor L&I billing and patient spend down accounts.
• Act as resource to physicians and care team; draft correspondence and record patient information.
• May direct the work of others; participate in COHE training and L&I orientation within 6 months.
