Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. The role serves as a clinical resource for staff and students and supports stroke care initiatives.

A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered. The position requires a Master’s degree in a related field, an active SLP license, BLS within 30 days, and ongoing participation in required continuing education related to acute stroke care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) per IDFPR
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
• Attend and satisfactorily complete required continuing education for acute stroke care

Responsibilities

• Collects case history information and integrates information from patients, family, caregivers, teachers, relevant others, and other professionals.
• Conducts assessment procedures for speech and language pathology.
• Develops and implements a setting appropriate plan of care with measurable and achievable goals.
• Interprets, integrates, and synthesizes all information to develop a treatment plan and make recommendations for intervention.
• Evaluates patients with speech and feeding related impairments
• Administers standardized testing to access level of function compared to age-related norms
• Assesses feeding and swallowing impairments
• Educates patients and caregivers on home programs and activities
• Coordinates with pediatric PT/OT on treatment interventions
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR
• Completes annual requirements as per therapy clinical ladder for senior status
