Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages. This role supports staff and students and qualifies for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

You will participate in comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with other disciplines to optimize patient outcomes. Required are a Master’s Degree in a related field, an active SLP license, BLS certification, and ongoing continuing education for acute stroke care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or related field.
• Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients.

Responsibilities

• Collects case history information and integrates information from patients, family, caregivers, teachers, relevant others, and other professionals.
• Conducts assessment procedures for speech and language pathology.
• Develops and implements a setting appropriate plan of care with measurable and achievable goals that meet patients’ needs.
• Interprets, integrates, and synthesizes information to develop a treatment plan and recommendations for intervention.
• Evaluates patients with speech and feeding related impairments.
• Administers standardized testing to access level of function compared to age related norms.
• Assess feeding and swallowing impairments.
• Educates patients and caregivers on home programs and activities.
